Müller GmbH - An award-winning employer

“We are absolutely delighted,” beamed COO Thomas Furtwängler, as he received the Jobmotor 2017 award on behalf of the Müller team.

The ceremony was held in Freiburg's historic Meckelhalle assembly room to honor those companies in South Baden that kept Jobmotor revving in 2017.

Out of 58 contestants, Müller GmbH in Rheinfelden, Germany, was awarded the prize for firms with 20 to 199 employees on account of its HR concept.

What impressed the jury was that despite South Baden effectively enjoying full employment, and further job opportunities beckoning across the Rhine from Switzerland, Müller was able to offer attractive incentives for job applicants, and that its personnel remain loyal to the company for years.

In addition to earning decent wages, Müller workers enjoy many fringe benefits. In the summer, for example, there are barbecues for the workforce, ice cream on hot days or, when it becomes unbearably hot, the personnel are sent home early. On special occasions, such as birthdays or anniversaries, employees receive personal bonuses or gifts. And at the end of the year there is a company Christmas party with a great entertainment program.

Müller also has an excellent reputation for its vocational training. Supplementary company courses and individualized professional development programs prepare young people for their future tasks in the company. The result: Müller apprentices and trainees are always among the best in their year.

“We all kept our fingers crossed when we were nominated and invited to the prize-giving ceremony,” stated Thomas Furtwängler proudly as he presented the prize to the staff, “and now we can all applaud each other, because everyone has done their bit to help win this prize.”

In the summer of 2018, this success will be celebrated by Müller with a team event, but no more is to be revealed at this stage.

Customers also benefit by having the prize-winning firm Müller as their supplier, since a qualified workforce that stays for many years in a company is the best guarantee for reliability, sustainability, quality and top customer service.

Jobmotor was created in 2006, and the prize is awarded annually .The jury is made up of representatives from the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK) of three southwest German regions (Südlicher Oberrhein, Hochrhein-Bodensee and Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg), the Freiburg Guild of Craftsmen, the Trade Association of Industrial Enterprises in Baden and the Badische Zeitung newspaper.
